during the night to make sure the house is still safe and that its only the furnace turning on and not a monster thats going to get us. Last night when we went to bed Chloe would sit up and look around everytime she heard a strange noise.

Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of ther universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made." - Roger Caras

Ratties are fabulous watch dogs !!! She'll soon learn what's normal and, hopefully, only alert you to odd sounds that don't belong

That's Molly! She's the hunter of the 2 and will start barking at any little sound, or run off to investigate some mystery sound I didn't hear. Once she's convinced all is well, and that nothing is going to attack us, she settles down...until the next strange noise.

Spanky does the same thing...I sure will be glad when he can tell the difference between a door knock on TV and the actual thing LOL

When you own a Rattie....you KNOW you are in your right mind

THE MEANING OF RESCUE

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
M.J.

Oh yes,Molly has to check the yard before she goes to bed.
If she hears a dog barking she cries to go outside. She will then
bark 3 or 4 times to let the other dogs know that she is on the job.
