Toby will be sleeping. Snoring even. Toes twitching in a little puppy dream.

Then suddenly he is off - running at full speed into another room. No warning. No sound. No reason I can see. He just has to be there RIGHT THIS SECOND!

Then he will come back in, lay down and go right back to sleep.

Crazy dog!

Oh, that is too funny. Don't think I have ever seen Lucy do that, but it would make me laugh.

He must have thought about something in his dream and had to go check it out. Bob will be sound asleep on the couch, just limp, and then up and playing at full speed one second later.

Hendryx is a dream chaser too. He'll be lying there asleep. His legs start to twitch until it looks like he's running on his side, his nose starts to wrinkle, with his eyes still closed he starts to woof, and then the woof gets louder and louder, and suddenly he's up with a full-throated beagle howl and racing for the front door or the doggie door or some other room. In a moment the howling stops and he trots back in looking a little sheepish and a little defiant. And then he goes back to sleep probably hoping that this time he'll catch the damn thing before it gets away from him again.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

Ace cracks me up dreaming sometimes as well.  He will start to twitch which used to scare me because he HAS had seizures before...not anymore thank goodness...but then I realized that he was just dreaming.  He hasnt been sleeping and then take off for no apparent reason but he does dream twitch...its actually too cute...

Wouldn't you just love to know what they are dreaming? Both of mine will go through running, grunting, twitching, etc., when sleeping.

And then there is the "Buddy Bursts". He will jump up tearing off to bark at some pseudo noise and scare the daylights out of you. It reminds me of the old cartoon where a dog sneaks up behind the cat and blasts him with a bark. The cat ends up on the ceiling hanging by his claws!

Welcome to the site...LOVE the jammies, Spanky had a pair in blue when he was tiny

When you own a Rattie....you KNOW you are in your right mind

THE MEANING OF RESCUE

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
