Nibs knows a lot and has figured out the meaning of some words that we have used for the first time. It is funny how much they can pick up on.

It amazes me what they pick up. Hendryx has the concept of rabbit and no rabbit (when we drive up into the cul-de-sac and go for a walk) and is disappointed when there is no rabbit, walk, ride, picture (he leaves the room, seems to be camera shy), and a number of others.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

lol. I bet you were thinking "wth"!!!  Well, when Zoey sits like in the picture below, her "boobs" stick out. (they've been like this since she had a litter of pups 4 years ago) Anyhow, I've teased her and pointed to them and said "boobs".... and now everyone does it to her!!

Ok, so I am a special education teacher and they always tell us to emerge children in "langauge" and in print.  I think that our Ratties are the same exact way!Well, except for the print part...lol  They absorb the things that they hear and see and tend to coorelate them together.  I feel like Ace knows everything I am saying eventhough he obviously cant tell me for sure...

He knows "go outside?"   "lets go play"   "cookie"    "sit"   "spin"(working on this one and its way too freaking cute!!!)  "grammy"(what we call my mom)"poppa"(my dad) "lay down"   and several more...

I HAVE TO SAY THE "BOOBS" one is HILLARIOUS!!!!

With Angel being so young, I'm really surprised she is catching on to things as fast as she has. She knows all her obedience commands except come, and that's just cuz she's stubborn. She knows Toy, cookie, grandma's house, Mess (the black lab across the street), outside, "go for ride", "get daddy", cat, "Daddy's home" and sooo much more. I have never met another dog so willing to learn and please. I am amazed at her ability to pick up on things!

One day, my neighbor warned me that he heard an alligator lurking back across the street from our place (NE Florida). I kept Lacy on a leash for her potty trips. After a day or so, I checked thoroughly, then let her off leash. I told her that her tough terrier reputation must have scared off the gator, and that she could lick 10 times her weight in gators...at that point, she looked me in the eye, then took off like a rocket right down into the marsh (where she hasn't gone before or since, btw). Now as far as I knew, she had never heard the word alligator, and I didn't think she knew where they live...
Now, I watch her, and she really "listens" when we talk. So we don't even kid about some stuff, and we've started S P E L L I N G things...
