Opel will come almost everytime called and for the most reeling in the leash is not as necesary as it was at first but it still comes in handy. also will come and is more focus in the house off leash. Today for the first time Opel walked fine on her harness and leash next to me no struggles or whimpering. I been using the crate only 3-4 days and Opel has been actually showing more respect and attention to our commands. Only use the crate for when we leave not as punishment ever or time outs as she ahs not been needing many of those. The comfort  of the fence has been to her has also improved her outside performences only had two accidents this week. Plus the area is near the light and being out at night in her safety pen has really helped her actully go at nite with less distraction. Opel is slowly learnin to sit now. We are not giving alot of treats she is eating up hands praises and verbal praises better.

One thing that is really great is she comes out of her crate calmly and asks to potty immediatly.

While still working on the come and walk issues and sit is okay to just work these before adding others or is wiser to add more commands and which ones. I am worried about confusion plus Rico who knows all the tricks of sit lie down ect. Performs them when we try to teach Opel and its funny. even the cat will perform a few.

Also I am dyslexic  so happy we have spell check and I sometimes have problems understanding what I read I can't grasp Heel I read it several times and I am not getting it I mean what to do. Is heel going to be  important role in Opel we don't use it on Rico but he minds good on the leash no problems.

The "heel" command IS important to the degree you want it to be important for your own personal situation. The primary thing... regardless of whether Opel ever learns a proper "heel" or not... is that you are able to walk her without her pulling and trying to walk YOU ! If she walks calmly on your left side... that's what the heel command ultimately is. Unless you are going to enter her into obedience trials... or agiility trials... or a sport where she needs to heel on command, I wouldn't worry about it.

I always concentrate on one command at a time... it confuses the dog to incorporate too many commands into a training session. "Come" is ALWAYS the command I work on first and I spend a huge amount of time on it before going on to other commands. The "sit" command is second... then the "down" command... the "stay" command.... but I spend a few weeks on each one. Too much information at one time will confuse your dog and could do more damage than good.

I'm glad to hear that Opel has improved... and as time passes she'll improve even more!
