Well, last night was our second to last class. Lucy did very well once again. We worked on a few stations at the begining of class. 1) Speed jumps, three jumps placed in a circle where you stand in middle and get dogs to jump as fast a possible. 2) Tire jump, curved tunnel, and another tire jump. 3) Jump and bridge. 4) Teeter Totter, A-frame, and straight tunnel. Lucy does not like the teeter totter at all. She will get to the top just before they push to have the other side fall and she just stops and refuses to move. But other than that she did very well. At the end of the class we also set up a course consisting of: Bridge, 2 jumps, Teeter Totter, A-frame, Tire jump, curved tunnel, tire jump, and the end with a jump. After we all went through the course a few times we learned a new technique, turning in front to switch leading hand. We practice turning and switching in between two jumps. She said next week that we will be incorporating this into our course. I am so happy to have had this opportunity with Lucy. It really has been a lot of fun. I'm very proud of how well she listens and can pick up on new commands very quickly. I wish the course would go on longer. |
