Oh gosh!  I have been meaning to record Apollo doing his "come" command.  He is doing sooo well.  Last night I took him out and there was a rabbit in our yard.  He darted after it and began to bark. But as soon as I said "Apollo, come" his attention was broken from the rabbit and aimed at coming to me.  I'm sooo proud of him.  I'll try to get a video and post it by this evening.  ((( HUGS)))

And thank you for all the training help.

Jolene... you're such a sweetheart! I'm SO thrilled to hear that Apollo is doing so well. You have no idea how proud I am of you for making the commitment to his training! Can't wait to see a video!

Thanks, Nora. I just whole heartedly feel that as Apollo's and Emma's mommy it is my responsibility to teach them... kinda like I teach my human son. If that makes any sence.

I am not Nora, but hey, congratulations Apollo! My Dai Dae is just now starting to 'sit' when I tell her. My older Rts, I still am continuing their training. Bali knows, come, sit, stay, down, fetch, no tricks as of yet. Ravyn knows all that Bali knows and additional command of 'jump', and I am working on hand shaking! Jt....knows the stuff, but if he does it is up to him....kind of stuborrn!

"tricks" are not nearly as important as being responsive to commands... so good for you for concentrating on the basic commands first.

Point is.... how important is it if your dog can jump through a hoop, but doesn't know how to come when called? There ya go !!!

Your right Nora! I only started the Jump command for Ravyn, because he done it himself! We were replacing a new door in a house, and he jumped it and it was like a game to him, jumped the door( it came to about his shoulders and was on its side...) and so I gave him a treat when he done it again with "Jump". Lol, now I kind of wish I didn't because when he wants out of the fence, he jumps it! Never mind that its taller then he is! He hasn't gotten out in about a month, thank goodness! The last time was when I was outside and talking to some people, he kept barking, trying to get my attention and when that didn't work...he jumped the fence. Now I make sure I go over there and talk to him when I am out!

I am wary about getting electrical fence(someone told me that would keep dogs in).
