I'm wondering where all the newbies went who posted questions in the training forum.  I guess they got all their issues solved, eh?

I hope that's the case, rather than them giving up and leaving. We tried to fill in for you while you were gone.

It would be so nice to know how some of these situations work themselves out, wouldn't it? Very frustrating to be left hanging - wondering if the dog has received the help it needs.

And a fine job everyone did, too!  I'm impressed by the knowledge of the forum members.   It just seems sometimes that people appear and ask these "HELP!!!" questions...and oftentimes we never hear from them again.  I wonder if they ever come back to read the responses?  I get curious about it sometimes.

Oh well... so goes life, eh?

Yes, I wish they would follow up and let us know how it's going with their pups. I also wish the new moms, like Amy, Jaala, and Vic would be able to join us every now and then and post new pictures of their babies. But I know they are busy taking care of them.

I agree.  I'm still worried about the darby situation too!

I worry a lot about the dogs with aggression issues. I wonder if these owners ever get professional help, or if the dog unfortunately ends up at a shelter, or re-homed for someone else to deal with. Just bothers me sometimes when I dwell on it. I wonder about the Darby situation too!

I think we scared her off.  I think the whole "can't find a place that takes dogs" is an excuse a lot of the times.  Makes 'em feel better?

Yes, just that... an excuse.  Sorry but this subject gets my blood boiling... but when are people gonna realize that dogs ( pets ) are not and should not be disposable?  I've NEVER considered myself as Apollo or Emma's "owner".  I am their "Mommy".  Ok I'll shut up before I get on a roll.

Jolene... you feel the same way that 99% of us feel. I can very quickly get on my "throwing the entire load of laundry out because one shirt has a stain on it" soapbox!!!

I'm lucky in that I know about 3 people who would take Bob in a heartbeat if I ever needed a temporary place for him. My mom kept our Ginger for about 3 weeks while we replaced our wood fence around our backyard. I think people sometimes get overwhelmed in a situation and don't always see possible solutions.

I agree - I wish people who post on issues that are serious or issues where they might get rid of the dog would post a reply or update! It's very frustrating.

Since you are probably half my age, you might have to pick out another godmother for them.

I am still here and working with Snickers.

Today he spent 3 hours in close contact with the other 2 dogs. While he did have some jealousy issues and yes they did play with HIS toys he did pretty well.

After a while he did join in even if it was to sit on one of us or try to get a toy back from the others.

I think it is good for Snickers to realize that whether he wants to admit it or not this house comes with a pack and he is THIRD in line.

No biting or snarling for THREE days--whoop whoop!

That's great!  Totally true about realizing he's in a pack and not "top dog".  Yay - no biting or snarling!  Good job!

I, for one, can't seem to post a new thread in the training section (or anywhere else I've tried)! I do have a training Q & would love some advice. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? When I click "submit" I keep getting the "new thread screen" I was on, but everything I typed is gone & there's a red star next to "body". It doesn't seem to matter what I put into the "body", a little or a lot...
Help!!
