hEy everyone...

I have a 4 month old rat terrier named Tinker bella. She is a lovable fun playing energetic puppy. We also have a one year old chihuahua named Twinkletoes that we had ever since she was a baby. Tinkerbella came into the household about 1 month ago and we cant get her to do anything !  Our chiuahua wasnt that hard to train. She did chew shoes and loved paper but every dog loves that...she learned how to pee on the puppy pads right away. Tinker bella pees in the kitchen and poos everywhere. She bites on everything and loves to chew through cords... what can we do to show her whats right? She has a great teacher and thats Twinkletoes but doesnt do it. help  ???

Welcome!! I have 2 ratties...6 1/2 month old sisters. It seemed like they would NEVER get the whole potty training thing, and all of a sudden, they got the idea. Each dog is different, but just keep doing what you're doing, and praise her when she does what you want. Eventually, she'll catch on. With my girls, they have 2 older dogs that basically helped to house train them...I swear they scolded the pups for going in the house.

As for the chewing...get some Bitter Apple or Bitter Yuck and spray anything that you don't want her to chew on. Since she's 4 months old, she's probably teething, so make sure she has some appropriate chew toys.

Good luck, and don't give up! Post pics of your pup soon!

I believe there are some threads with great info. on this site. And yes lots and lots of praise when Tinkerbella does do something you want her to...Good luck!
