Lucy did so well last night. She even went through the long tunnels that she had been afraid of everytime she was asked to. We learned the teeter totter, and raised the bridge. Lucy did very well on the raised bridge. She did get a little afraid of the teeter totter when it accidently slammed back down and made a loud noise. But she got it. We also worked more on jumps, tunnels of course, and putting things together to make a course. We had a course which consisted of the raised bridge, two jumps, curved tunnel, tire jump, straight tunnel, and the teeter totter. Well for those who wanted the course ended with a dip in the kiddie pool (trainer also has kennel). Lucy did everything very well. I was and am so proud of her. This has been such a fun experience. I was afraid that she would have forgotten how to do some things since class was cancelled last week. But seems all she forgot was that she is afraid of the long curved tunnel.

Aw thanks. We are just having so much fun with this. It's such a plus that she is getting it too.

I'm glad that you are both enjoying the agility so much.  It really IS fun, not only for the dog owners, but I believe the dogs really have fun doing it too!

GOOD GIRL, LUCY!

Colleen,

Have long have you been doing agility?  Have you ever done it before?  I want to enroll Molly in classes...I think she'll like it.

Glad Lucy is doing so well in it!

Colleen... so glad to hear that Lucy is doing so very well !! 95% of the time I think this agiility thing is fun, and 5% of the time I'm frustrated. I've been training with Bailey almost a year... and still mess up from time to time, but it's coming together!! Bailey and I ran a excellent standard course Wednesday night... much more than would be expected in a novice competition... I'm proud of us! I'm proud of you and Lucy too! Do you think you will be continuing on after the class is over ... to yet another class and perhaps competition at some point?

Joy-I have only been doing this with Lucy for a little over a month now. This is our first time doing anything of this nature. The only class we have taken is basic obedience. I think that anyone who has the time, effort, and patients to do this sort of thing should give it a shot. Just remember that it is for fun, there really is not any other practical use for learning to run through a tunnel on command.

Nora-I actually am considering taking another class after we have gotten the fundamentals down so we could work towards doing a higher level of agility. I think right now I am just working on getting this part down and see what happens along the line. I am having a great time and think that this is something we could continue with. Especially because I could probably talk my dad into building some items for me.
