Skipper barks at the cats...and chases Yoda our big cat....Yoda can get away either up on the shelves, windows or washing machine or behind the puppy gate but the barking gets old.  Skipper will chase him into the bathroom and then just bark at him very excitedly....at first the spray bottle worked but now it is only effective for a few minutes and then he's right back barking at the darn cat.

Any ideas?

Hmmmmmm... I think I would work on the "no bark" command for starters. Say "no bark" firmly and when Skipper stops, give him a treat. Repitition is the key here. EVERY time you say "NO BARK" and he momentarily stops... treat him. That's how I trained Bailey not to bark. This will be more difficult if the other dogs are barking too... it will work best with him one-on-one. Once he has the hang of the "no bark" command, you can use it when he barks at the cat. I would at least try this...
I don't have cats so it's not an issue at my house.
Someone else who owns cats may have a better suggestion for this !

Ok, I haven't given a treat for not barking so I will try that. And yes, Mayfly and Mitzy have started joining in, even Loco sometimes...he gets them all "riled up" so to speak. I'll try to be more consistent, too.

Seems like ratties can figure out what you're doing pretty quickly and then just change their tactics if they really want to pursue a bad behavior....or maybe it's the chi in him 'cause M&M aren't as stubborn.
