I'm new to this forum.

Question: Is there a brand of electronic fence that has a particularly small zapper? My Rat Terrier is only 10 lbs, little more than our cat. She's been allowed to wander free without a collar or harness for a couple years but a new neighbor apparently doesn’t want her watering their flowers. I hate the idea of making her wear a harness with the Petsafe zapper which looks to be about 2.5” x 1.5” x 1.5”. It seems sort of bulky for such a tiny dog.

I just got an estimate to have fencing installed...whew, expensive!

However, I did look at PetSafe, as recommended. I didn't think that there was a size small enough for 5 or 6# ratties, so I called PetSafe. They told me about the Deluxe Comfort Fit for Little Dogs and from the looks of it, this will work on our wandering Blue. She's the only female dog I've ever had the just rolls off wmars1776's dog.

Yeah - it is pricey. The wire was already on our property when we bought it and considering it is an acre and a half, we would have gone for a much smaller area if we had the entire thing installed. All in all though, we love it.

I don't get what you mean in your last sentence?

We're on 3 acres. If we do the wiring ourselves, it will cost 1/4 the price to do the entire perimeter. However, I'm not sure we need to do the entire thing. The ratties are both super small, it's my wilder beast, Blue, who needs the extra space.

My last sentence was related to something you said about Dexter. Our female dog, Blue, sounds like Dexter's sister

Dexter could never be trusted no matter what I did trying to train him to stay on our previous property, he would do well then all of a sudden would give me this "look" his rear would drop and bam - off he would go/ Sorta like he heard traveling music! Anyway,

Happy 4th to you too!

If you install the wire yourself you can rent one of those slicing machines for the lawn areas (not the trencher type) just tell them what you need it for. In any area that may be wooded or covered in shrubs you can just lay it on the ground. Just have to be careful if you do any gardening or digging there. The more space the better.

Yup - I understand what you meant now - LOL
