Oh Jenny! Have your mom or dad take a picture of you reading the book to Max. Our library needs pictures of people reading books for our summer reading display 'Get Away With a Good Book'. Please?! This goes for anyone on here, have someone take a picture of you or you take a picture of your kids reading books anywhere...on your patio, poolside, on a boat, etc.

Isn't she the trainer that was on the Oprah show "All About Dogs?"

If that is her, I think she is wonderful. She believes in teaching dogs manners as well as good behavior.

I will go and see if my library has a copy available. Thanks for the info!!

Yes... this is Oprah's dog trainer. She's a former Israeli intelligence officer who had HUGE issues with the way the military trains their dogs. I haven't read the book... but I intend to.

I'm learning at my ripe old age that there are many different ways to accomplish a goal. The training I've received over the past many months has taught me that you can obedience train a dog very differently then how I was taught to do it... but in a much more animinated, fun way... with the same successful results. Many dogs who go into agility have had NO obedience training and they end up doing well, because in the course of learning the obstacles, contacts, etc... they dog just becomes well behaved and responsive to the handler. It's quite interesting.

I'm gonna order this book... actually had intended to do so awhile back, and this thread served to remind me that I haven't done it. Thanks, Jenny! (if I can't remember to BUY the book, it's gonna be interesting to see if I remember anything I read in it! haha) I'm getting SO forgetful !
