Remember, we've only had Duncan for a few days now.

When someone comes over he gets so excited he pees, sometimes on purpose (like on their foot). How can we prevent this? I read the article on marking but it didn't lend any advice on this particular subject.

Also, we took Duncan to the park yesterday to get some excersize. I felt like the worst dog mom EVER! He tried to get away so hard and so much I honestly thought he was going to make himself pass out from choking! I tried the pull when he tried to get away and it only make him pull away harder. He wanted to smell everything and mark everything untill he ran out of stuff to mark...and even then he kept trying. He was not doing well at all, he was breathing funny and almost like wheezing from making himself choke so hard...any advice?

I'm so not the expert especially on the peeing thing, but some of that may come from him being in a new surrounding.

The leash thing though, let me ask you a question, do you have a collar on him or is he on a harness, and are you using a regular leash or a retractable one? If you are using just a plain collar, I suggest (from hearing alot of people on here recommend them when I got CoCo) to get Duncan a harness, that way it won't put the stress of him pulling on his neck.

Nora the training moderator will be on to check in soon hopefully and I know she has alot better advice for you.

But welcome to the site. I'm sorry I missed your post about how old duncan is and how he came to be a member of your family.

Robin, in the training section of this site, there are several posts about how to train a dog to a collar/leash... so I won't address that here again if it's ok with you... (how old is Duncan?)

Excitement urination occurs most often during greetings and playtime, and it usually resolves on its own as a dog matures. In some cases, however, the problem can persist if the dog is frequently punished or if the dog's behavior is inadvertently reinforced—such as by petting or talking to your dog in a soothing or coddling tone of voice after he urinates when excited. (don't do this... please... it will make it worse).

First and foremost...take your dog to the veterinarian to rule out medical reasons for the behavior.

To avoid accidents, play outdoors. Don't punish or scold him. Keep your greetings low-key. When he's excited, ignore him until he's calm. You might even consider putting him in a crate when visitors come over.. keep him in it until they are settled... then let him out.

Duncan is a year and a half.
Would a harness improve the situation?

There are harnesses that will prevent him from pulling (supposedly, I haven't used one).  Don't know if it will still choke him though.
