Here's the deal. Geigh has not slept throught the night in about 2 months. She gets up at least twice. I think this is about the same time we starting have problems with the allergies. I was giving her benadryl at night but she still isn't sleeping.

What can I do to make her sleep through the night? She starts winiing and then she starts to bark if you don't get up. Of course, if she is up, Boozer is up. They both go outside and most of the time she doesn't pee or poop. I don't know why she has to go outside.

Help!!!!!!!

i was thinking excersize/sleep during the day... her schedule is messed up.... you need a good afternoon of really wearing her out and see what happens...

I think the suggestions above about a good walk before bedtime are good.....help wear her out! At least you can start with this and give it a try...... Good luck!

Yeah, our little Clooney is also home for most of the day while we are at work. He has our full basement to run around in, and we have a dog-walker that comes for an hour every day which helps a lot. Otherwise he is EXTREMELY hyper all night when we get home. I find that if we play a good 20 minute game of catch with the ball- or tug-of-war with one of his toys, he gets tired and sleeps pretty much through the night. He usually wakes up around 6am (if we go to bed at 10PM). When we are home on the weekends and he's up all day playing, he sleeps like a baby alllll night long!!! If we play TOO close to bed time, he can get over stimulated and it has a reverse effect!!!
So try to play around with your rattie for a good 20 mins/half hour at night- and walk her, and that should help!

My first thought was exercise also. A tired dog will always sleep better at night almost without exception.
