Maggie has her first puppy class today!  Wish us luck!  I am excited for the chance to start her early on socialization and obedience!   Has anyone else done a class this early (12 weeks) with their pup?

How fun!!! I've always wanted to sign up for those classes with Julia but just haven't found time in my schedule between all my childrens sporting games. Hopefully things will slow down this summer so we can do that. Good luck and have a great time!!

Good luck! I'm sure Maggie will be the star of the class, not to mention the cutest puppy there. I think others on here have done the puppy classes and enjoyed them and learned a lot.

Remy was 3 months old when we started ours. I think starting early is better then later. It really important for socialization.

i went to sign joleigh up for the beginners class and the trainer asked me to sign up for the puppy classes instead, even though joleigh is 5 months during it, she said itd be better because of her size.. now i wish i wouldn't have listened to her because almost everything we do in the class is things i've already taught her...

Class was great. I am really glad I am starting her out so young. We learned the "focus" cue today and Maggie was soon focusing like a pro. We also did "sit". She also got to have playtime and socialize with lots of new people. She really seems to catch on super fast.

It was nerve racking at first. Until I realized that Maggie was going to do quite well. My poodle is somewhat dog-reactive, and so I am used to being kind of tense in class with him (Which probably contributes to his dog-reactiveness LOL). But Maggie took it all in stride and was a little natural!  It is so good to start them young! So it was quite fun with Maggie.
