Hi Everyone

( I'm a noob...if there's already a post abt this let me know )

I was wondering what kinds of toys do you have for your ratties? And if there is such a thing as RT-proof toys that will last longer than 3 weeks?

Here's Fish 's toy history:

-rope bones last him about a week

-he destroys tennis balls within a week

-stufftoys dont last that long w/him ( the last one was torn up in 2 days )

-kong toys punctured

-Busy Buddy "Twist n treat" was chewed through, so the treats just fall out, eek!

( he's like a little wood chipper machine! )

any toy suggestions?

I gave up on even Giant! PIZZELS! they last 1 day!!! these bones last weeks! and they get just as much enjoyment out of them and there only 2-3$for 4!BIG! bones!!!And it cuts down on my dog for bill too!

I have some from the first link and one from the last link but no fire hose. My guys LOVE to destroy the soft fluffy toys but the more durable canvas toys they just play with. I think it's because I give them lots of the easy to kill toys so they don't bother trying to kill the tough duty ones.

I have one of those fire hose toys...it's survived a dobie and 2 ratties and is still pretty much intact, they've only managed to chew part of one corner off after countless hours of chewing. I've had it for almost 3 yrs, btw...well worth the $$ in my opinion.

Lisabeth

furbabies: Lucy and Molly (1 1/2 yr old decker ratties), and Rosie (3 yr old dobie)
Buddy - gone but never forgotten.

Pepper has one of these. You can hardly see teeth marks in it yet. She's had it for 3 months now!

Minerva too can destroy things in minutes! Tennis balls last less than a minute in my house, so no more tennis balls! We did find some nice hard bouncing balls from Petco (Petco brand) that so far, so good. She loves rawhide chips, but of course they don't last long.

Funny story, we had bought her one of those stuffed animal weiner dogs from PetCo, she LOVED it and within two minutes we had to take it away from her because she had totally destroyed it ... she was DEVISTATED. So a couple of months later, I'm in PetCo and they have the same toys, but with a sign, NOW LAST TWICE AS LONG ... and my first thought was, "Wow, FOUR whole minutes!!!" ... ha

I once read a post by someone with two Jack Russells who said the ONLY toy his dogs could not destry were full size bowling balls ... now there's an idea!!!

I guess I'm wired wrong. I love the toy destruction. My guys are very good about sticking to their own stuff, they ignore the couch pillows or non dog items but give them a nice fluffy toy and it's SNOW all over the house. I let them destroy toys once or twice a week. Roxy is the main destroyer - she LOVES to destuff things.

yea...Im just thinking that I'll go against my say'n of NEVER! give them socks and old shoe's cause they don't know the difference...(they don't) but since we don't where many sock's and the pups don't have access to GOOD ones ,I might just knot up some  old!socks and let them have 'um! ya know? even at the Dollar Tree 1$ buck is getting expensive! and X4 everything! and there's the picking up of the FLUFF EVERYDAY! Do they really care if its a old smelly sock! NOT!
