Hi everyone,
I need advice or your opinion. Daxter just pee on his new bed . He never did this before. He is 4 years old. I just got him 10 days ago from Ratbone, he actually adjusting very well, never pee in the house or mark at all since day one. He can hold for 12 hours, 8 hours or 6 hours or less than that. Not destructive, pretty mellow and just sleeps all day in his bed. I have a puppy play pen surrounding his bed but it's open so he can freely in and out his pen and wander around my dining area & kitchen. So this is more like his den or his house. Usually after a walk he just play a bit and then jump right back in his bed.
Last Thursday night I have to start dog sit my friend's dog Jackson for a week until next Thursday, Jackson goes to day care on week days and everything was fine until now. Jackson start to come in Daxter den and jump in his bed and sleeps there. This morning I bought a smaller bed at Target for Daxter if he needs to go stay with my friend next month. So I thought well since Jackson is in Daxter's bed maybe if I can put 2 bed next to each other they can sleeps together on their own bed. When Jackson is in Daxter bed, he doesn't want to jump in there too and share, he look at me and kind of saying that's my bed. So I brought the other bed in, put it next to Daxter regular bed and invite Daxter to play in his new bed since Jackson is lying in Daxter regular bed. Everything was fine and he plays with me. Then I went to the living room, both dog follows me and sit next to me while I am in the computer. Daxter play with his bone, I pick him up and hug him a bit. And then he jumps down my chair and goes to his den, I saw him goes to his new bed, I thought Oh he is going to sleeps there but he just stood there and jumps right out again. I am suspicious and I look he pee on it. He look afraid and guilty when I found out he pee on it. I actually just took them out 2 hours ago to pee outside.
Daxter behaviour is OK with Jackson staying with us but he ignore him , he doesn't want to play with him and growl at him. I noticed he is more interested in his bone also and more wants to play and get my attention more than usually he does.
Is this just like a territorial thing that he is pee on his bed or I just miss his sign he wants to go pee after he play with me? When I took him out after he pee on the bed, he pee a lot outside.
What do you guys thing? I just don't want him to start a bad habit peeing in the house because of Jackson staying with us and bring a bad influence on Daxter. Jackson is about 1 year old, but hyper active and they are totally opposite personality to each other, he also pull when I walk them together while Daxter is just walk calmly.
Sorry for the long story. Thanks.
