Hi guys.  Once again I want to thank everbody for all this information--Life with Nora would be harder without the imput and information.++

Would like to hear various opinions and experiences with the use and removal of the weepad in training.+

I used it at first and then started taking nora out about 7 times a day.  Morning--before breakfast (she has late lunch)  after breakfast. and this pattern the whole day and before bed.

I crate her when I must and at night--So she does make out side no problem--but if I deviate she will make mistakes although it does not seem like a mistake, she is very deliberate in doing it where I can't see.  I have my eye on her 99 percent even have her thethered.

Today we had a toatal breakdown--I was late letting her out of her crate, it is pouring rain for the first time since I got her and I have missed many accidents that she has had in the house.

I have heard many opinions about the wee pad. Some say get em off as soon as they make out side--I am to fried to remember if anyone has had succes with outside training but pads when indicated.+

Whew--that was tiring--Nora is 12 weeks and I have been training her for 3.5 weeks.  An I pushing this?  I am aslo worried about eh mixed messeges i am giving her.

All opinions welcome---thanks +

Potty training takes consistancy and time. As you know. I never used the potty pads, because I wanted my dogs to know that outside is where they are supposed to go. But that is JMO. Lacey (my 2yr old) was never trained on potty pads and was fairly easy to housetrain. Jack my 1yr old was trained on potty pads before I got him (at 8wks) It was more difficult to teach him to go outside. It took us a while to get him trained, but I didnt go back to the potty pads. They are both housetrained now. I had to take him out all the time on a reg sched. Just like you are with Nora. Occ we'd have an accident even after I concidered him trained. If I deviated from the schedule tho we'd have more accidents in the house too. As he got older tho I didnt have to have to be too set in my schedule. Mornings of course when we get up and then right before bed. But thru out the rest of the day, he will let me know. If we are gone he holds it till we come home. I know potty training is frustrating sometimes. Dont worry she will get it. good luck

Yaz wouldn't "go" on the pads. She played with them. So we trained w/o them.

For some reason, my vet told me to use the pads until Taz had gotten all his first shots in, Maybe because I live near the woods. I used a smelly agent that signaled hin to pee there. It worked like a charm. When it came time to go outside I put the smelly stuff on the area of grass we wanted him to go in and now thats the only area he uses in the yard. Good luck!
