If you dont mind me bragging a bit!  I've trained Lacey to stay and come by having a treat and telling her to stay then walking to the other end of my kitchen.  As I turn around I repeat the stay command and she has to stay sitting.  Then I stand there and make her stay in that position until I say come.  When she comes I make her sit at my feet and then I give her a treat.  She does this well and we've done this with her since we got her (2 years ago)  Then we got Jack and I started doing it with him.  He is a lot more excitable, so it was harder to get him to learn stay and not follow me when I walked away.  I think having Lacey already trained in this helped him figure it out.  But he does it...tho I do have to correct him from time to time and either make him resit, or make him go back becaus he will come before I call him.  Tonight we worked hard on it and he did great!  BUT...the best part is that I had my 7year old daughter work with the dogs tonight and she did great with them.  THEN, she did something I never thought to do.  She called Jack to her and made Lacey stay.  IT WORKED!!  She said to the dogs" Lacey...stay,  Jack...come."  and they did.  Lacey stayed while she treated Jack.  Then she called Lacey to her and gave her a treat.  I was so proud of all of them!!!  Now I want to try and make Jack stay while lacey comes.  That will be harder.  Then we are going to move to the back yard and learn it there, then go to another place and do it there!  Thanks for reading this if you made it through!  I was just so excited and proud of my dogs that I had to share this with someone who will understand!!

YAY! What smart babies! I always get so excited when Cyrus does something good. Even if it's the tiniest thing!! That's amazing that they can tell which one you want to come and which to stay! I'm impressed to say the least!

wow!! impressive, for all three of them! YAY! I have wondered ( not really tried it yet) if they would be able to do different commands at the same time! I will have to work on that for sure!....if your 7 year old can do it, I sure hope I can! LOL

That is so awesome!!!  You should be proud!!

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

You have every reason to be proud, and I for one ENJOY reading about training successes. So often the training section of the forum is where people come in "crisis mode" when they need help. This section should also be for just what you did -- posting about your successes and the steps you took to achieve those successes...it's very resfreshing! Your description of how you trained this behavior will help others here too!
I'm very proud of you and your furpups! I hope you will continue to share these stories with us!
