Ok. my husband's daughter is past due on her baby so they are giving her a shot tonight so she could go into labor tommorrow and he wants me to be the grandma too. But see i am only 18 and dont have children of my own, if she was my daughter i would tell her that she got pregnant so she takes care of him not the other way around anyways, my puppy buddy has to be locked up at all time bcuz the baby will be over at our house 24/7 but i just feel like they should give him a chance with the new born but he isnt my child so i cant say anything to her. All i said is that i dont really feel you are giving him a chance with him and yo should if the puppy would hurt someone he would of done something by then. We had a 5 month old come in the house and he was so friendly so would should i do? |

| ok, I told him i aint giving my puppy up so he said he could stay and know i told him that why should a 7 month old puppy stay in his kennel all day and he dont get a chance but i ask him how would he like it if he had to be locked up all day and dont even get to come out? If i was her i would give the puppy a chance bcuz the puppy really wouldnt undertsnad what he is so why cant they just see how he acts? |

| well as i said you need to stand your grounds. it is not fair to keep the rattie locked up and usually puppies grow up with the baby and i am sure the puppy will not hurt the baby. just sniff a little and that is it |

| but they dont undertsnad bcuz i talked to a rattie owner down the street and she said they are so friendly with babies and they will be best of friends when they grow up together but they dont understand so i was like fine when he comes home dont bring him upstairs bcuz i aint leaving my puppy in his catch he is going to be left in the room and then when i feel he needs to go out then he will go out and if you have a problem with that then kick me out |

| Honey, no offense intended, but I think you need to grow up, mature some, and then try the whole marriage and pet owner thing all over again!! You are just a kid and he is treating you as such. I know I probably hurt your feelings, but, trust me, that is NOT my intention...I'm just giving you my opinion. |

| I'll agree with Brandy. And I'll say that if the baby "is going to be over at your house 24/7" then I take it they'll be living with you? And your husband says the dog must be locked up while the baby is there (which is 24/7). By locked up do you mean in crate? Because, and no offense intended, but if you're saying your husband expects your dog to stay in a crate 24/7, that's just cruel, and frankly, abusive. |

wow honey....first the baby is overdue...what kind of shot do they give to induce labor..I have never heard of a shot??? and I still do not understand your situation and why any 18 year old would marry a 36 year old...I wouldn't and I am in the age group!! he must be something good or you are having a hard time understanding yourself and your growth as a woman..and to be a mom of someone almost your own age can't be easy..but you picked this life and now it is up to you to make a stand in what you want or just give up and back down...you have got me worried and wanting to understand..but I can't ...I am so sorry....Milly |

Amber, stand up for yourself and your dog! Don't let your husband treat you like that and tell you what you are going to do. I understand that you are supposed to compromise but you having to leave your dog in a crate all day and all night is not compromise. That is your husband getting his way. I think you and your husband need to sit down and have a serious conversation. Every post that you make is something negative dealing with him...from the fact that he stole your money that was going towards surgery for your dog, to him not liking your dog, and now this. Also, unless this baby is going to be left on the floor all day, I don't really see how your dog will be bothering the baby anyway. Won't the baby be in a crib and away from the dog? |

| I rescued Murry after my son was born, and yes Murry now tends to hide because my son is much larger than him and Murry has had his own issues...but I always include the both into my daily life...And you are 18 about to have a step- kid is that even okay with you and how does you husband really feel about the fact that his daughter is 16 and having a baby???? Also is her mother around or involved?? This may be a clue as to what you got yourself into..If not are you in trouble and we are not getting hint????/Milly |

| i was induced by potossin the opened that wide open it is like a bag of iv fluids. anyway i think you need to get your story straight and stand up for yourself and your rattie and decide what is right and what is wrong and if you ask me you are heading down a road you will regret!!! where is the mother to this daughter and where are your parents at? seriousely you need to stand back and look at the big picture and realize you have to grow up first.you are young and there is alot more fish in the sea at there and alot more doors for you to open, try opening a few and not keeping them shut. do you have a job can you afford to live on your own or go back home? SOMETIMES I WONDER IF YOU ARE CRYING OUT FOR HELP!!!! |

Amber, I am really concerned about you emotionally. As a Mom, I would be very concerned if my daughter who was 18 had hooked up or married a 36 year old man. Now all we have to base our opinion on here is what you have written in previous emails about your situation. First, are you happy in this marriage?? If so, then you need to buck up and be responsible and have a heart to heart with your husband and explain that it is not good to keep a puppy locked up in one room, a bedroom a laundry room or a crate constantly. This puppy is also a baby and needs interaction.
If you are unhappy and want to get out of this situation, do you have a job? Where is your family?? Do you have a friend you go stay with?? Something, anything....sounds like it would be better than this situation you find yourself in now.
I don't mean this to be ugly or rude in any way shape or form.....but something has to give. If you cannot be a Mom to this pup....who has already had so many issues with his surgery etc.....and your husband spending the vet money, etc.....please get him a good home and put your life in order.
Just remember that when you marry someone.....you marry them, their kids, their baggage....the whole kit and kaboodle.....this just may be more than you bargained for being 18. Just know that his daughter and her kid won't be going anywhere.....so you will be stuck with them too.......
I sure wish you alot of luck and would hope this would spur you to make some changes in your life.
God bless,
Lynn |
