My neighbor called and said he thought it best he not bring our mail anymore. He said for the dog not to get hurt or him to get hurt. he felt it best. I told him that Toby is still upsetand tha you are not to hit a dog.  i was nice.  I suggested what you all had said. He would never agree to help me.  As for the leash. Toby keeps a leash on except at night.  We do not live in a subdivison.  We live on a small mountain. We have 13 acres.Toby has a fenced in back yard.  He likes to be in the yard with  me.He stays close to me. I think this was the beginning when he hit him back in the summer with the paper. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP.

I'm glad to hear this.... I think it's best. He has no business hitting your dog...after all... it's his territory and he's trying to do what comes natural in protecting it.

I really  appreciate the replys. I only wish this had not happen at all.  Toby is so sweet to me (Too Protective).  He really needs a chance.  This neighbor is not a animal person.  He needs to be in a neighborhood that you live very close to each other.  He doesn't need to be living in the woods like we are.  I am really working with Toby on his behavior problem.  I want to get a professonial trainer, but just cant at this particular time.  Hopefully finances will soon change. We have been trying to get him a playmate which we think will help.  He is good in so many ways.  I am constantly working with him with basic commands which helped in our our neighbor confrontation.  Oh well he is better staying at home.  He constantly looking for somebody to sue!!!!!

He best be glad it wasn't me or my dog, I would have taken the paper away from him and hit him with it and asked him if he liked it. I don't care how old you are you have no rights to strike someone else's dog. You are better off that he doesn't bring your mail and so is Toby. We had a dog named Toby when I was growing up. Your dog's name brought back so many memories.
