Get job on telling it like it is, there was a time when after bill I would have to choose between my food or Guens. You can bet I would choose her every time. I never understand people who don't take care of thier animals. They NEVER should have gotten a dog KNOWING they cost money. Apparently they are to selfess to even care.

Just because he is not physically abused doesn't mean he's taken care of.  Sounds like you are not in a good financial position to care for a dog - $175 is nothing for emergency surgery.  You were talking about breeding at one time - do you have $1500 available at all times for an emergency c-section?

And since he's "your baby" would you allow a human baby to suffer like that? Please.

Huh?!?!?!? So you don't hit him that means he is okay?? I am glad he is getting the surgery, but what if something should happen in the future? How will you pay for that? Will he get his regular checkups and vaccinations which alone can be a $100 vet visit? I am sorry, but without Petland or us you were outright stating you were going to just "watch him die". Pathetic. God forbid you get sick and someone says...well, I will just watch her die I can't afford to take her to the Dr.

i was thinking about it before but i was like we cant afford the other 2 dogs that are my husbands and then this one that is mine i take care of my 100% of the time my attention goes on him. my husband gets mad bcuz my baby is the first one i take care of when i get up. Although my husband hates my baby bcuz my baby is first no matter what goes on. He tends to get mad and says to get out so i say fine then he says just kinding i love my baby and nothing is in the way of love.

No i wouldnt but hospitals are easy to work with bcuz they just put it on your bill and pet hospitals dont but he is in surgery and will be out sometime today and staying over night so i pick him back up tomorrow

Please don't insult the people here. You posted begging for help when you thought your "baby" was going to die because you had no money and the money you did have, your husband spent (even knowing about the dog's condition -- so obviously he doesn't care too much.) And the members here quickly --- without much help from you, I might add --- contacted your vet and raised the money to pay for his surgery. So DON'T YOU DARE cop an attitude!

But if you didn't let your dog get into the state that he's in now, none of this would have happened. I don't really want to add to the mix, but I agree with Tracey, all of the people on here helped you/ or at least tried to help you out with your dog, most of us don't even know you all that well yet, and if you cared that much about your dog. I know all of us can't afford to just go around doing this and that with our dogs, but if you are in the time where money is tight, why did you get the dog? Also, I read the post that you wanted to get ANOTHER dog! I can't even IMAGINE how you could even THINK to get another dog after all of this! TONS of people cared anough about your dog to help you out, and yet you let your husband or boyfriend or whoever go spend it! I just think that you shouldn't have been asking for help, if you #1 Knew you couldn't pay them back and #2 you couldn't keep the money in a safe place where you KNOW it wouldn't be spent on other things!

Trying to be fair, as I recall, Amber didn't know Buddy had a problem until Sunday morning. I haven't researched or have any personal experience with a twisted testicle, but I can certanly relate.  I think that it is something that happens quickly, like a broken bone, never saw a bone break slowly.  From what she's posted I don't think she is fabricating anything, she may have other issues, but I don't sense she is intentionally trying to pull one over on anyone.  (Gess, dejavu, where did this happend before?).  She got Buddy to the vet on Monday and the surgery was today.  Maybe getting him to an emergency room might have been better, Many will think she could have done better, but she did what the vet said needing doing and when he said it had to be done.

Didn't I already say Goodnight!

Wow I just joined this site and I don't know what to think. I really don't want to get anything going again, but finding this thread was a real eye opener to what type of "help" I'll recieve if I ask any questions. To me it seemed that Amber did her best to get the situation taken care of. How can she help if her husband went out and spent the money. Also, what are you suppose to do if you don't have to funds to take care of a major surgury? You say then you shouldn't get a dog, is this the same as saying that poor people shouldn't be allowed to have children and enjoy that. I grew up in a very poor family and am very glad that my parents decided to have me even though they might not always have the funds to support me as best fit.
