A higher grade food is best as they don't contain the cheap fillers or by-products..the dog/puppy utilizes more so that means less going out of him. I feed Spanky Natural Balance Potato & Duck small bites...here is the site... http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/dogformulas/PandD.html

Welcome to the forum, Harley158. What's your rattie's name? Can you post us pics in the Photo Forum? We just love puppy pics here. My girls are on a Raw Meat and Bones diet now. There are many high quality foods available. You can check out numerous dogfood discussions over in the Health/Diet Forum. This topic comes up a lot there. |

Yes, there are many posts on this topic and many high quality foods to choose from....Canidae, Natural Balance, Innova, Merrick, Wellness and many others. To learn how to tell a good food from bad check out www.thedogfoodproject.com . Basically, look for no corn and wheat fillers; no dyes; no preservatives.
As for how much, as a start I would go with the directions on the bag. Then reduce or increase from there based on his weight and activity. |
