A higher grade food is best as they don't contain the cheap fillers or by-products..the dog/puppy utilizes more so that means less going out of him. I feed Spanky Natural Balance Potato & Duck small bites...here is the site... http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/dogformulas/PandD.html Nutro Natural...http://www.nutroproducts.com/ncdogprod.shtml and Nutro Ultra...http://www.ultraholistic.com/ are also good high grade foods Hope this helps |

When you own a Rattie....you KNOW you are in your right mind
THE MEANING OF RESCUE
Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed, All nicely tucked in my warm new bed. I'd like to open my baggage Lest I forget, There is so much to carry - So much to regret. Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss, And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame. As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave - I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain. I loved them, the others, the ones who left me, But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me. Will you add to my baggage? Will you help me unpack? Or will you just look at my things - And take me right back? Do you have the time to help me unpack? To put away my baggage, To never repack? I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see, But I do come with baggage - Will you still want me?

Welcome to the forum, Harley158. What's your rattie's name? Can you post us pics in the Photo Forum? We just love puppy pics here. My girls are on a Raw Meat and Bones diet now. There are many high quality foods available. You can check out numerous dogfood discussions over in the Health/Diet Forum. This topic comes up a lot there. |

Yes, there are many posts on this topic and many high quality foods to choose from....Canidae, Natural Balance, Innova, Merrick, Wellness and many others. To learn how to tell a good food from bad check out www.thedogfoodproject.com . Basically, look for no corn and wheat fillers; no dyes; no preservatives. As for how much, as a start I would go with the directions on the bag. Then reduce or increase from there based on his weight and activity. |
