Thanks. Sure seems so (that this site has loads of great info).

Well, just last night, before I went to bed, I looked at his papers and I saw that he was born Oct. 03. That would make him 10 weeks old tomorrow.

And now that I realize it, he seemed to be a little bigger than normal for 6 weeks.

And if that weren't enough, he seems to be used to going outside to take care of business. So for that, I am grateful.

He has 2 shots. One on the 14th of Nov. and the 5th of Dec. He has another one coming up on Dec 26th.

Anyways, I am going to be gone from 8:10 PM to 4:30 PM. I get out of school early but I don't have a car so I can't go home any sooner. I would love to be home at 2:00 to train my new rattie.

Well then, sounds like you have a little head start. Be consistant. He should be okay in the crate while you are gone if there are no other options. You will just have to play it by ear and see how he does the first day. Just make sure you feed him about an hour before you leave so he has a chance to go potty before you go. Good Luck and keep us posted!

Yeah this seems pretty addictive already. Y'all seem to be very knowledgeable about everything and it's been real helpful.

And I'll be sure to keep yall posted on our progress.

Thanks! I haven't come up with a name yet. It's between socks, snow, and pepe. I like snow and pepe better than socks though. lol

Great run-down on training, Peggy. Glad to hear it, this is the way I have trained three poms and now working with my Rat.

Because she is still very young, I have her in the half bath with a potty pad during the day. I go to work at 6:45 am, but my kids don't leave the house until almost 8 so they take her out one more time before they go. I go home for lunch and spend an hour with her. We eat lunch and potty and play and then go back to her "room".

When we are home she takes naps and goes to her crate when we are busy. She has taken to her crate pretty well and will go in and out of it on her one sometimes. I do let her sleep with me at night since she is alone all day. I think she (and me) needs the contact. I wake up easy enough at night when she does to go out.

I am very proud of her progress so far, but am looking forward to the time when she sleeps all night and when we can trust her enough to let her walk around the house alone while we are there. I did use the "doorbell" when training my Italian Greyhound and she picked up on that pretty well. Not sure I will do it with Chrissy though.

Congrats on your pup, I hope all is going well. As for names it always a heck of a choice. If you name him Pepe maybe since he was smelly when you got him you could add LePew. lol Welcome to the site, I've been here a little over a month and it is very adictive. I try to check the site at least once everyday. All the best with your pup.
