First of all, I'm just going to assume that Mitzy and Skipper are both rat terrier/chi mixes.  I'll never know for sure but I think they are.

Mayfly, the purebred rattie, is the most prey-driven one of the bunch.  She's also the most energetic (i.e. hyper) one and the one who is most eager to please, also the one with the shortest attention span.  She's also the WIGGLIEST dog I've ever known!

Mitzy and Skipper, the ratchis, have longer attention spans and are calmer in general (only relatively speaking as all 3 are balls of energy).  They are less interested in squirrels, etc. but that may also be because they don't see as well.  Mitzy is the SMARTEST dog I have ever met, she actually plans things and manipulates the others, she's cunning....but not in a bad way.  She and Skipper like to learn and to please us but are not as totally into it as Mayfly.

All 3 talk (mutter, grumble, growl talk), fight with their butts and have the same kind of bark.  They are all rather dominant dogs and it's a toss up between Mitzy and Skipper for alpha (after us).

Just some random observations about the few differences between the doggies!

Awwww! MB! They are sooo sweet. I love seeing pics of them. I personally think it's neat how it seems like Skipper has traits of both his sisters. Like he and Mayflay have the same coloring, but he and Mitzy have tails and both are missing the same eye. I'm glad they are doing good with each other.

Interesting observations, Mary Beth.... seems Mitzy is odd dog out... she doesn't match any of your other dogs color-wise! haha

Our Holly is also the WIGGLIEST dog I've even known!  She is also a little shadow... everywhere I go, Holly goes... but she is always just "watching out for me" she doesn't want....  or need anything!! She absolutely HATES to be picked up and held... BUT she wants to be right next to me sitting on the couch... (while "tapping me with her paw to make sure I pet her!) .. but just don't get too close until she's in the mood to settle down!  Some nights she spends so much time just walking all over ME, or all around the couch...  looking for just the right place to be... it's time for going to bed by the time she's finally settled in!

Most packs have one alpha female and one alpha male. So if you have both sexes you can have two alphas that don't fight. Which is a blessing because right now I still have two females that are working out their positions.

ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH OVERDOING Mom of eight, only three left at home! Pack leader to ten ratties: Maggie, Mysty, Berry, Simon, Ceecee and five puppies, Star,Sari, Bluebelle, Double stuf, and Snortie. As well as Ginger the Border Collie and a herd of turkeys!

I didn't know that except from reading about wolves...so that explains that Mitzy and Skipper seem to have reach a compromise and are both alpha. Cool!

Mary Beth, I too am thinking Annie is a Rat-chi. The main reason is her coat is not as close like a rattie's is. She may have a long-haired Chi in her. But she doesn't have the 'apple' shaped head or short nose.

Now Mr. Chips is all over, typical terrier but on the other hand, he would love to spend all of his days on earth in my lap looking at me with eyes of adoration! Smart as a whip like you say.

Annie is still adjusting and of course we don't know how old she is or what her past was like. We think she is at least 10 and we fear her past was very rough. She is very protective when we are walking and wants to 'kill' other dogs. She also does the pogo stick thing at the front door like Chips does and when they play there is the continuous terrier talk. So who knows.

We love our tiny tots no matter what origin they may be. Please make a new picture/video of thread of your crew if you haven't already. I don't think I saw one.

So true - no matter they are I love all my midgets! And my whippet, of course.
Judy - lots of new pics under different threads...pirate pics, Skipper pics, etc. Probably way down the page now as it's been a couple of days.

Annie is such a cutie, she may be ratchi or she could be a toy rattie - they've got a lot of chi in them.
