ok i have two problems:

1 my 12 wk old  roxy has learned to poop out side then comes in and pees on the floor right in front of me.

2 she likes to jump and try to bite anyone and anything is it ok if i lightly(i can not stress light enough) spank her?

I tend to stay away from the spanking, however light it may be.  I would lean more toward a very stern "NO" and removal from the situation.  If she is jumping on you, say "NO" and put her down.  If she is biting, I would say "No Biting" firmly and touch her snout.

My Egypt bit when she wanted me to pet her, but I broke that habit in one week.

Good luck - I am still having potty issues and I have had her for a month - she is a year and a half but came from a shelter.

You are very welcome.  The potty issue may take a while, but the behavior issues can be solved easily.

Have fun with your pup

Hi and welcome to you and Roxy!!! Glad you found us Please don't forget to post some pics so we can tell you how beautiful she is

There is TONS of advice on all of Roxy's "issues" in the training forum. I would really suggest you look through those posts, but always feel free to ask any questions you like. (By the way, I'll be moving this post to that section, so that our training moderator Nora will see it when she checks in as that is always the first place she looks. She has the BEST advice. Others will offer suggestions as well - we love to help!)

I would absolutely steer away from hitting her even lightly. If you do that, she will come to avoid you... and it will have the opposite effect than what you are seeking. Your pup is young and the biting behavior is puppy behavior. If Roxie doesn't pee when you take her out then bring her back in and put her in her crate (I hope you are crate training her.... this will be your best bud as far as housetraining goes). Then take her back out in about 15 minutes to see if she'll pee. You may have to wait awhile... puppies do this at their own pace.. not ours.

As far as the biting... tell her "no bite" and give her a treat. ALWAYS offset any negative command with positive reinforcement. You can also get a can and put coins in it to get her attention. Say NO BITE... shake the can to get her attention. Then when she stops biting, reward her with a treat.

Welcome to the forum, and good luck to you! Remember... patience and consistency is the key ...
