We took Lucy to the vet's office today for her annual exam and shots (we switched to a new vet this year).  Before we got into the exam room, Lucy was very anxious and whined some.  Once we got into the room with the assistant, she started to calm down.  She even whined for the girl after she left the room!  The vet was very nice - Lucy loved her treats (she usually doesn't take treats from strangers OR eat treats in public - she's weird about it).  She got a 3-yr rabies vacc, her DHPP booster, and the bortadella vacc too.  No problems so far!  Lucy even gave kisses to the girls who were drawing blood for her heartworm test!

The only piece of not-so-good news is that we have to cut back on how much Lucy eats.  She is up to a whopping 9 lbs. 4 oz.!!!!  Last June she was 7.5 lbs.  The vet told us that Lucy should only be getting a 1/2 cup of food total per day.  We had been feeding 2/3 cup total per day.  The vet said that with foods like Nutro, she needed less.  I guess Nutro L & R is pretty good sustenance and you don't need as much (someone help me out here???).  At any rate, I guess-estimated how much to feed Lucy based on the chart on the back of the bag and it looks like too much.  We will be cutting back slowly so Lucy doesn't think we are depriving her.  The vet stressed that she didn't want to see Lucy in a year weighing 10.5 lbs.

We also got new heartworm/flea prevention called Revolution.  Don't know too much about it, but it is supposed to be really good and it is guaranteed by Pfizer.

They definately eat less. When I switched the girls to Wellness, they eat less of that than they did of the nutro. (no I'm not starving my dogs, there is just less grain and more meat!)

Yep, that's true. A higher quality food will go farther, fill them up quicker.
