I got a small bag of Canidae Lamb Meal & Rice to try and mixed a little with his dinner a few minutes ago. He is eating now...and spitting out the new food on the floor.  So, I guess he doesn't like it? |

Maybe he's saving it for last  I don't know, Mic did the same thing except he would spit out the old food, but then he would eat it when all the new stuff was gone... |

| He went back and ate it all. The funny thing is, I brought in several bags of groceries and one bag from the pet store. He made a beeline for the pet store bag. He also got a new toy, a rubber cat made by the company that makes the Cuz balls. |

How do they know pet store bags. My pups always do. They were disappointed today because we went to the pet store and just got them new collar. Now, I know they've recently gotten collars, but these will be the collars I punch holes in to accomodate their invisible fence receiver. The old ones have gotten too stinky! But -- point is they knew I'd been to the pet store!
Glad Bob went back and ate all of the new food -- guess he just didn't want to mix the old and the new! |

Yogi did that at first with the Innova when I started mixing it in with the Nutro. I think partly they are creatures of habit and like what they know. Also, someone was explaining to me what tastes good to them may not be the best thing for them, kinda like how a lot of us love Mickey D's!
Glad he ate it though at the end! That is too cute about him making a beeline for the pet store bag, they are too smart! |

Apollo LOVED the Canidae! Even though I didn't switch him properly.  I just quit with the Nutro and bought a bag of the Canidae... but that was because of all that food recall stuff.  |

I often give mine mixed food (Canidae with Natural Balance or Canidae with Solid Gold) and Mitzy will pick out 1 type of food and lay it on the floor beside her bowl. Then eat the type left in the bowl. Then eat what she laid on the floor.
As Pami would say "she ain't right" LOL |

| I tried mixing foods when I switched Charlie from Nutro to Natural Balance but he just picked all of the NB out and refused to eat the nutro. He is just so picky! |
