Took Abby to the vets today as she had a red ring rash on her tummy...actually two of them.
Found out she had black fly bites!!! Was worried about ringworm and lyme disease!  So really was relieved that it was just those pesky bugs!!

I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago. I thought it was ringworm, but it wasn't. We then thought ants. Never thought about flies. They gave me a spray to put on it. She's o.k. now.

Amos has red spots between his toes. The vet confirmed my suspicion today. Fireant bites. Our property has several mounds. So aggravating.

My ratties caught a giant waterbug the other day and got some amazing bites from it! If I hadn't seen them with it and taken it away they would have been giant bug bite city! They weren't afraid even when it bit them hard enough to make them yelp! Their noses are the worst for it and I would have thought that the cat got them again!
ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH OVERDOING Mom of eight, only three left at home! Pack leader to ten ratties: Maggie, Mysty, Berry, Simon, Ceecee and five puppies, Star,Sari, Bluebelle, Double stuf,and Snortie. As well as Ginger the Border Collie and a herd of turkeys!
