Cookies losing hair like crazy...could she be shedding her winter coat? Even the black "wirey" hairs are coming out..

Anybody else dealing with this right now?

Yep, Mic is leaving his hairy mark on all my furniture and clothes now... He goes through this every year when it starts to get warm.

I'm glad you brought that up, I thought Frankie was the only one that was shedding like crazy. I've heard that using flax seed oil on their food helps control the shedding, also someone else told me to use bacon grease on the food. I haven't tried the bacon grease but the flax seed oil works and makes him very soft.

Where do you buy flax seed oil? I keep hearing about it but have never seen it...

I bought it at GNC. They were out of the cheap stuff so i bought the $20 bottle but it lasts forever since I only use 1/2 tsp a time. He loves it, won't eat right away unless its on there and then he'll lick the dish clean.

Jack did this earlier this year. It was EVERYWHERE! Now he's done and barely sheds at all.

I give Millie weekly baths and everyday brushing cuts down on the shedding a lot. I also have a "Furminator" brush that actually works quite well. It kind of collects the hair that is loose before it actually falls out. I live in the North East so we're just starting to get into the warm weather here. My Dyson vacuum gets a lot of use!!

My dogs are not shedding quite so much now, but about a month ago it was horrible. The dachshunds shed very little, but Bailey & Buster shed a LOT. I think the Dream Coat I add to their food (has several oils in it)... helps keep down the shedding too. For awhile I had little white hairs all over everything I owned!

Izzy has shed since the day i brought her home but i gave her her first bath this past weekend and i haven't noticed so much shedding since then. But she is still shedding some.

How long does the shedding usually last? We've had Duncan for 3 weeks yesterday and it's like it keeps getting worse instead of better.

Bacon isn't good for dogs, so I don't think bacon grease would be either.
