Could Illryia have allergies?  She has been doing this really cute eye rubbing thing at night, when she's tired.  And wants to go to bed.  It has been going on for a couple of months now.  She is about 10 months old and this is her first Spring/full Summer.  I looked at her eyes the other night and it looks as though she had tear marks down her face.  They were only about an inch long, but it still looked as though she had been crying or her eyes were watering.

Sometimes she sneezes, but it's not happening any more frequently than ususal.  Any suggestions?  I'm just worried about my pup.    Thanks!!

Could very well be allergies, it sounds like what Mayfly gets after being out in the grass. When it gets bad enough that Mayfly is rubbing her eyes a lot I give her one children's disolvable benedryl each morning....sometimes in the evening if it's really bad. (Per vet instruction)

Hmmm, she's not outside a lot. But we do like to keep the windows open when it's nice... cool or not. Maybe I'll give the vet a call and see what they think?

Mayfly's allergic to grass or something in it. Illyria could be allergic to something in the house.
Never hurts to ask the vet, it could be something else.

I would check with your vet, even though it does sound like allergies. Mic has an eye disease called superficial keratitus (sp? I forget) which causes his eyes to get very blurry and uncomfortable. For a long time we just thought he was sleepy because his eyes were red. Then he had a check-up at the vet, and they said its normal for dogs to get red eyes... well a couple weeks later his eyes got so cloudy and he was squinting so we took him to another vet where he was diagnosed with that disease, gets eye drops once a day now... And, because it took so long to diagnose him, his right eye has a scar on it... And they still aren't 100% sure of what he has.

So basically what I'm saying is, even if you think it could be something, it's always best to double check, just make sure you trust your vet first

Lucy doesn't have allergies that I know of, but when she's outside, even a slight breeze will make her eyes water.  It doesnt seem to bother her, and it doesn't last long.  Dar had allergies to grass, and corn in her dogfood when she was young---but she outgrew them both.
