| When my dogs got an old thermometer and broke it open, I thought they injested the mercury and had to call them and it cost me as well.........I asked why they had a fee and they told me that the fee pays for running the program.....I dont understand it either. |

| Whew, glad he is much better..........the last thing PIxy got into was a bottle of Pepto Bismol chewables. Fortunately she didnt get the bottle open but its got holes all over it. I'd hate to see what would happen if she ate some...............ewwwww. Other than an almost empty Pringles can ( sometimes i forget how cunning she is) she hardly ever goes after anything but food. |

Fred ate a Plink Garbage Disposal cleaner once. I had to call poison control and YUP 60 bucks. Unreal. I had to give him 2T of milk and wipe his mouth with a rag. I thought that was so pricy for a call. I am glad Toa is okay

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

I'm so glad Toa is OK. I don't know how I missed this thread. I second the using peroxide to make them yak. Just don't expect one yak, like I made the mistake of doing once. Many years ago, we thought Sue had licked some antifreeze that came out of Jason's truck. Called the vet, were told to to give her 1/4 of peroxide and 2 tbsp on milk once she had thrown up. I took this as "The dog will throw up once and its over." I figured one pike of yak wouldn't be too bad to clean up, so I didn't put her or anything. Sue threw up alright, and it just kept coming. She threw up so much that I couldn't get one pile cleaned up before she was at it again. Finally, I resorted to getting all the towels (we didn't have many, maybe 8) from the bathroom and just covering it up until I could clean it, because Kozmo was trying to eat the puke. I ran out of towels and bolted to the kitchen for paper towels, but when I returned, I found Kozmo chowing down on an enormous pile of throw up. Called the vet again. Said he "could" have ingested antifreeze if Sue indeed licked it. 1/8 cup of peroxide for Kozmo and 26 total piles of vomit later, both dogs were fine. Me, on the other hand? I wasn't doing so well, LOL... |

Sorry for all the typos. I'm not sure if I've ever seen so many in one place! What the crap is a pike of yak? A giant street covered in vomit? LOL
