My lab and bulldog get pedigree - (lab refused royal canin - can you believe a lab would refuse any food!!)  heard anything bad about that?

now i need a recommendation on wet food so cali can get her supplement powders... is there ANY safe canned food....

I found this:

April 12, 2007 Update Royal Canin South Africa has advised veterinarians in both South Africa and Namibia to discontinue selling the Vets Choice line of pet foods due to the foods causing kidney failure in cats and dogs. This recall does not include any Royal Canin formulas sold in the U.S. or other parts of North America.

April 10, 2007 Update An expanded list of recalled pet foods from Menu Foods includes the first and only Royal Canin pet food formula to be recalled. Royal Canin Canada's Medi-Cal Feline Dissolution Formula canned cat food diet, a prescription diet not sold in retail stores, has been recalled. No other Royal Canin pet foods are currently under recall, according to the company.

Yeah, they had a recall a year or two ago because they put excess vitamin D in some food and some cats and dogs got sick and some died. I think it was canned food but I'm not sure.

I would feel comfortable feeding Innova, EVO, California Natural or Canidae, among others.

The list of "safe" foods is getting smaller.....

OMG... (sorry i just reposted the question - i didnt see ya'lls responses).... i'm sooo stressed now... my vet had given cali prescription canned royal canin food on her last visit... and i have never heard of any of the foods you have listed above.... help....

so does that mean the regular dry royal canin is ok??  I feed the dry shitzu (sp??) food since they dont carry rat terrier brand...  have ya'll heard anything bad about wet pedigree food (i just need something to give her her meds in daily)....

this is so stressful...  i would have to be put in a white suite / padded room if after all this work to bring cali back she got sick and could not recover from something as horrible as poisonous food!!! ugh
