I took Lucy to the e-vet on Sunday for a foxtail in her nose.  The foxtail was removed and she was fine.  Starting Monday night, she's been waking me up every 2 hrs to go outside...every night for 3 nights now.  I assumed it was a UTI because she had a catheter in on Sunday, but then I had noticed that she was pooping and not peeing in the middle of the night.  Unfortunately, I couldn't take her in to the regular vet until this afternoon, but I knew it couldn't wait until Monday (and I really didn't want to have to take her back to the e-vet).  Urine test came back normal, but the vet had noticed an infection/irritation in her girlie parts, so she's on antibotics for that, and a bland diet of chicken, rice and cottage cheese until the diarrhea clears up.

The vet fell in love with Lucy (what's not to love? she's a total sweetheart. )  He was really impressed with how well Lucy behaved and that she let him examine her unlike so many other dogs.  Of course my princess was well behaved...poor baby...she's been to the vet more than a few times in the last few months, she knows that they're going to do what they have to anyways, so she may as well cooperate with them.

I just hope that this solves her issues, and that she doesn't have to go back for a long time...she's now terrified of the vet, and thinks that's the only place I ever take her...she actually tried to hide under the passenger seat when I went to get her out of the car.

I feel for you and Lucy!

These trips to the vet are taxing on everyone... and their pocketbooks.  Sounds like she's getting great care and is on the mend.  Good thoughts for both of you.

Thanks for your concern everyone. Lucy's feeling a lot better today...no middle of the night potty trips the past 2 nights! She's going to be on the bland diet for a few more days, just in case, though. She loves the rice and cottage cheese...it may be hard to get her back to regular food. Lucy needs antibiotics twice a day, and she will see me go for the bottle, shake her head "no thanks" and run away before I can even get the pill out of the bottle ...but she takes the pill without a fight (and gets a nice goodie for her trouble too).
Last night when the other 2 were "drugged" (quiet moments) for the fireworks, Lucy took full advantage and pounced on them, especially Rosie, who she rarely gets rough with...crazy girl.
Mitch - she wasn't quite as rough on the pocketbook as Murphy, but still...1 e-vet visit and 1 regular vet visit...around $400. but knowing she's okay is worth every penny.
