Today I had to go and get dog food for Daisy and Anna, instead of a big bag of the Nutro Lamb and Rice, I bought a small bag of it and a small bag of Natural Balance Ultra Premium so that I can mix the two for a while and see how they like it and if it agrees with them.
I've been pleased with the Nutro, but am concerned with their being bought out by Mars, Inc. and what that might do to quality control...sooooo ???? |

I did it too. I bought Mario a bag of Canidae last week... I feel the same way about Nutro.... |

I had bought a 20 lb. bag of Nutro right before they announced the change of ownership. I guess I will do some research before I run out of this bag. Bob says he will just eat whatever we are having.  |

Haven't decided what to do for Max yet.
Have been feeding him some of his old Nutro, new Natures Variety (all types) (are Canidae and Natural Balance better?) No one seems to be feeding the Natures Variety . |

I personally don't think Canidae and NB are any better than NV. If Max likes it then you should feel good about feeding it to him. |

| I might start with the raw NV soon, is that the type you feed JenMax? And if so, did you have any trouble with them throwing up on it when you first started? |

| Mine are on the Natural Balance Premium weight control. I think I'm going to add canidae to it though when I get paid next. |

Here is my late (as usual) addition to this thread. We switched too. Zinnia was eating Nutro, small kibble with a couple of tablespoons of Nutro canned food. I decided to switch to Canidae, both canned and dry. The Canidae lamb and rice kibble looks almost identical to Nutro, not that it matters.... Zinnia is doing fine on the Canidae.

I just saw this. Max gets the chicken/turkey NV but only one 1 oz medallion for lunch. He gets dry for breakfast and supper.

| I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am with Canidae. I started feeding the dogs the chicken and rice formula about 3 weeks ago. They absolutely love it! I can see a big difference in how soft and shiny their coats are. Also, (and I apologize in advance) Jerry has the most solid poop he's ever had in his life. Canidae is great! |

Thanks jen, I am going to stick with the raw bones for now and when I start feeling more comfortable with them I will try the NV medallions we have in the frezer. Did he throw up at all the first time you gave it to him? |
