A friend of mine recently gave me a springer for my bike. I've rigged it so I can tie both dogs to the bike (I used a leash for walking 2 dogs). They absolutely love it. I am not much of a bike rider but this is easy. The dogs can really pull and it does not affect the bike at all. It took about 3-4 rides for them to really "get it" and now they run run run while I take a leisurely bike ride. 25-30 minutes on the bike drains more energy than an hour long walk. I do have to be on the alert for things that my 2 would normally chase after but they have figured out that they can't go after it - we are moving too fast for them to care! I also have to watch for pad wear on their feet, so we don't do it every day. Also - you obviously want to be aware of your dog's fitness level and not push them beyond what they can do.

Just wanted to pass this product info along. www.springerusa.com

Cool! I just sent the link to my son, Justin, who has a husky, that he lets pull him around on his roller blades. He loves to bike, so that would be perfect.

Both dogs have been "brushed" by the bike wheel - they have a healthy respect for the bike and are very aware of themselves compared to the bike. The springer arm keeps them pushed away - I'd say the biggest danger has been an offleash dog. If I see any potential hazard (even something that they might want to chase) I stop the bike. I put paisley in a harness (attached to bike) and she wears the prong separately on a leash that I hold on to but I rarely have to use it. My lab is fine being attached by a martingale collar, he does not really try to chase or do anything other than run...

This actually works? I was looking at it a few weeks ago.
