Hey everyone I have been up all night with my Bailey throwing up and having diaherra.  He didnt sleep well at all last night.  I took him out this morning and he is still doing it.  I am so worried about him.  I called in today because I am scared if I leave him he may get dehydrated.  I have finally gotten him to drink water and to eat a cracker.  Should I ride it out and see if he gets better or should I take him to the vet?  This has happened one other time and the vet said it was a virus.  Thanks Hollie

Oh they are fine they are running around chasing each other.....it is NON stop with the pups! Bailey just ate some dog food so I am going to see how he handles that. Thanks

I hate it when they are sick. Duke is struggling with allergies. I'll keep Bailey in my prayers.

I would just be careful and watch for dehydration. Maybe he ate something outside? Mine eat grass sometimes, and throw up once or twice, but not all night. Take care. If you are off from work, you may want to take him to the vet, just so he can be sure to be on the mend tomorow.

If he's been throwing up all night I would not let him eat. Let his tummy rest for 12 hours or so (this is an adult dog, right?) Maybe just give some plain yogurt. And make sure he's drinking. If he continues vomiting or having diarhea I would take him to the vet. Gavin went through that a few weeks ago and it was bacterial enteritis. He needed antibiotics, a paste to control his bowels and a shot for the nausea.

I was just reading where a lot of dog owners had the same problem at the end of June....they all feed their dogs Canidae and suspect that it was the culprit. From what I can tell Canidae changed its formula around this time. Is this the brand you feed your dogs? I am considering switching to this brand but now hesitant becuase of the complaints I have read.

Yes.... Canidae did switch their formula so many people aren't feeding it anymore. I hope by now Bailey is feeling back to 100%.

To tell you the truth Im not sure what made my baby sick....but I was feeding him Canidae. Im not sure if I have the old or new formula....I just changed them around a month or so ago so im not sure. Everyone seems to be okay now. I cant really tell a difference in the pups but I can tell a big change in Baileys coat he is alot softer and really shinny. I was feeding Science Diet which thanks to this site I have learned that it was basically CRAP! Bailey doesnt poop as much as he used to either so I am happy with the results

Well that's funny. Yaz was on Science Diet and when we changed her to Solid Gold Just A Wee Bit she started pooping more.

amy,

What kind of solid gold?? huncken flocksen _(-sp). Or Adult? I find that on the Puppy Lamb and Rice, she goes about 3 times a day if all is well. If it is loose, I think it is from the treats...
