I found it surfing on net and find this helping in multipurpose health matters, May this help you and if you have such suggestion regarding any health solutions please feel free to discuss with me.
Niacin (Vitamin B-3) is an essential B-vitamin necessary for good health. Many Niacin supplements cause a temporary Niacin flush or tingling red rash on the skin when taken in large doses. This flush-free Niacin is formulated to avoid such reactions.Inositol Hexanicotinate is a stable, non-flushing source of Niacin. This superior source, and lower potency, of Niacin works to reduce the problems associated with mega doses of Niacin supplements. |

| Hmmm, don't know what this is all about but to answer your question Sara, Niacin is very useful in vascular issues, as with many other things I am sure. My Jack has SLO and Possibly a dermatological form of Lupus. Niacinimide (the broken down form of Niacin, which is what the "flush-free" form is) along with tetracycline helps improve vascular flow. NIACIN should NEVER be given to dgs as it can have lethal effects.......only NIACINIMIDE is given to dogs. Again, what this post is all about confuses me! |

Personally, I don't see why you would, but I never really looked into that. I would think a high quality food would give enough.

I just looked up the food I feed Sam -Canidae All Life Stages- and it has Niacan in it. The last ingredients are: ...Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (source of B2), Beta Carotene, Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Calcium Iodate, Folic Acid, D-Biotin, Sodium Selenite, Papaya, Vitamin B12 Supplement. But it's one of the last ingredients, so there's not a lot in there. |
