Ingredient list looks good. I already feed Merrick so I may try these if my (one and only) pet supply store begins carrying it. They (chicken, buffalo, salmon) all contain 32% protein.

Yes it is a thickener. I have some I used when I was on Atkins.

Thanks Maureen! I've seen it in a lot of canned food and wondered about it. I don't suppose it can do any harm (or any good)...?
