What causes a dog to foam at the mouth? Boozer was outside playing and I think he got a frog. We noticed he had saliva foam on his lips and on his snout. He is acting normal but he keeps licking his lips.

Help!!

Thanks, I went on the dog channel website and to the health section. They said if the dog has had all his shots and is having no other symptoms that it can be caused by hyperexcitability. THis was the first time he got a frog and there were a bunch of bugs swarming under the lights and he was trying to jump up and catch them. I just kinda freaked out. Sorry.

ITs hard to resist the little hoppers... mine will continue to grab them, drop and shake their heads.  They just taste bad.. no harm, to the dog anyway - the toads are not so lucky.

I have found two dead toads in my back yard lately. Just one of the things they do, along with rats, birds, snakes, etc...
