URGGGG! Kennel Cough is going through the neighborhood! Tucker started coughing last week so we took him in to the vet and because it was such a mild case didnt give him anything, the vet said it wasn't bad due to the fact he was up to date on his bordatella vaccination and sure enough he stopped couhing a few days later. Charlie hasnt coughed at all so I didnt take him but I will if he starts. Most of the dogs in the neighborhood have it so I have been kind of limiting thier walks and taking them to different places. Hopefully this will pass soon!

Ah spring time colds. Such a joy. They make the most dreadful snorkling gasp sound when they get sick.

wow! your one LUCKY DOG! we rescued Julius, from a huge USDA! Kennel and you would think they wouldn't have it but he came home (w/o symptoms)And gave it to ALL the pups!!! Caesar was ok cause he has had his cause we travel and MUST board him we were VERY! lucky cause we had 5 pups in training and ALL under 6 mons so it was a MESS! it took 2 months of HACKING, CHOKING! pups to get them old enough to get a shot! then they got well pretty quick @ 2 weeks of MORE HELL! So now EVERY time I run into ANYBODY! I tell them GET THE SHOT!!! even if its 2 times a year its so worth it!!! this is exactly why!!!! people just don't care to give there dogs ANY SHOTs! these vets DON"T make a fuss about it till you board one,,,SCARY!

I just got a very sick rat terrier from the animal control where at least 80 % of the dogs there had kennel cough.  Not only was my dog run down from the food and stress, he was very ill.  Heartworms too!.   He was hours away from being euthanized.  After vet visits, good food and lots of love.  He is well enough and is being treated for heart worms now.

But it took weeks for him to get over the kennel cough.

It can be a pain and it sounds awful. We've had several dogs come through with mild to severe kennel cough over the years. My guys generally don't catch it or only get a mild case as they were immunized young and now are in extremely good health. I always feel so bad for the ones that have a bad case of it though. It's no fun.

I believe Terry brought it with him from Austin, poor little guy has been hacking away. Pinky picked it up to, all the other guys are fine. Seems it might have run its course, they are both sounding much better with Terry only coughing in the early morning hours.
