The Vet still hasn't figured out what is going on with Abby.  She just finished the urine culture and there wasn't anything unusual there.  I guess there might be a problem with the spay she had last week?  So now the vet put her on pain meds for 5 days and we're going to re-evaluate after that.  Has anyone here ever had problems with a spay?  Abby is still squatting when we go outside.

Is her temperature up? Could she have an infection? Never had a problem with spay - do you like this vet a lot and think s/he knows what s/he's doing? Could always get another opinion. Or try google? I hope she feels better soon.

No temperature, unrinalysis done, urine culture done...both were negative for infection.  I just rescued Abby 4 weeks ago so I haven't known the vet too long.  She seems likes a really good vet though and I was referred to her.

And how long ago was her spay and is she only acting weird when she goes out to pee? Is her energy level good, is she playful, is she in pain if you gently probe?

She was spayed a week ago...her energy level is through the roof like normal.   There doesn't seem to be any tenderness when I feel around her stomach, although it does seem like there's a lump where the surgery took place.  She only squats when we are outside on grass and it's very frequent.  The vet prescribed some meds for pain so hopefully that will help!  Thanks for the replies...

I'll keep my fingers crossed for her. I was wondering if she was squatting like that because she has the memory of when it hurt just recently so she's compensating in case. One of my little guys did that after surgery for about 2 weeks. He was afraid to life the leg at all so it was all about squatting. But if she is doing it when not time to potty it's odd. Good luck!

Abby is finally not squatting!!  The pain medication must be doing something.  Also, her 10 day restriction after the spay is up tomorrow...I don't know who's more excited, me or Abby.

Our whippet did that for a few days after her spay.... no UTI, she just squatted every once in a while...weird.
