Egypt is outside on her run right now. My daughter just yelled up to me at the house to hurry and see.
There are two red circles (almost perfectly round) on Egypt's belly that I have never seen before - the are about the size of a regular bead and they are bright, blood red. It is NOT blood. I ran my fingers over them and it did not seem to bother her at all. The spots seem to be changes in pigmentation on her skin.
They do not appear to be insect bites. There is a faint cat scratch on the inside of her leg, but no bleeding or scarring there.
Has anyone had any experience with something like this? |

I think its a bruise!  hehe...It happened to Trixi after she got Spayed...thats the advice i got on here the pics...its looked EXACTLY the same....i think it was like the doctors thumbprint or something...like an internal bruise?!?! Trixi was just fine it faded after a few days just like any bruise would! |

Are you kidding me?  Do I feel like a huge dork right now.....
I wonder how she got the bruise...she has not been injured as far as I know, and the vet didn't do anything to her on our visit last Friday.
Thank you sooooo much....I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is a bruise.

Nope not a bruise. I think it's a hemangioma(sp?). Blood vessels close to the skin burst. Harmless. Google it, see what you come up with. |

| Could be, although it is not a raised mass of skin like most of the images I see. I am going to wait a couple of days to see if they fade or go away. If not, obviously, back to the vet we go.... |

The improtant thing here is to make sure it gets smaller and not bigger. Alot of times patients on blood thinners get these. What we do is outline the area it with a felt pen and make sure it doesn't get bigger. If it gets smaller no worries, if it gets bigger then for some reason she is bleeding inside and needs to be check. Please don't worry, it is very common.

Hemangiomas can also be flat. We get them alot in my family. They look JUST like that. Of course it could be something else, but, it LOOKS like hemangioma. |

Thank you to all of you for your help.
I am going to definitely keep an eye on her. I just noticed a couple more spots - they may have been there before but I just saw the first two - and if they look worse later on, I will surely call the vet. |

Excellent tip! My daughter was getting hives at school for awhile. Everytime she got one the nurse would outline it so we could watch it.

| Molly has had that happen before. After a day or so, I noticed the middle got lighter like that too. I assumed it was a insect bite, but since she never acted like they hurt, and she was normal otherwise, I didn't worry. I gave her a benedryl, just in case, though. It really looks worse than it actually is. |

| They do look like bug bite with a reaction now with the center like that. Are they just on her underside? If so I agree with the little bit of benedry and a close watch. |
