He ate about 3/4 of a nonedible puppy nylabone on Saturday evening before I could finally get it away from him. He has puked 4 times yesterday.. once today. Has passed a few smaller pieces today.

He is still eating, pooping, and acting fine except after he pukes. I'm really nervous that some of it is going to get stuck in his intestine, and after reading some horror stories online I'm kinda freaking out. What would you do???

Have you called your vet? I would call to see what they think.

Usually they will just ask you to keep an eye out and watch that it passes through and if not they may want to do an x-ray to make sure it is moving through his system and not stuck somewhere.

Thats what I figured they would say... I'm sure they would want me to come in. I guess I would rather be safe than sorry though.

if he ate it in big chunks, it may get stuck. if he broke it into pieces about the size of a grain of rice, or a little bigger, you'll be fine.

I'd be worried about the sharp edges on those pieces...my dobie mix, when he was a pup chewed up water bottles and swallowed them. All the pieces passed fine, but he ended up with stomach and intestinal ulcers. Not much you could do for those, other than feeding a bland diet for awhile.

Keep us posted...I hope he feels better soon.

He's feeling better today. I haven't been home all day but he has pooped and seems to be doing okay. I called the vet yesterday to see how much an x-ray would be... and I decided to just wait it out. And he seems to be doing good No more nylabones!! I'm sticking to bully sticks haha

Glad he's better. My dogs eat small pieces of nylas all the time (i mean like rice sized) and it does not hurt them. They don't consume a lot at one time, though.  If larger pieces, a little mineral oil helps things pass through.

Bella chews Nylabones all the time too...we don't do rawhides. I just take them away when they get small enough that she'd be able to swallow them or even be able to fit them inside her mouth. Most of the Nylabones that I buy are ones that she wouldn't even be able to swallow anyway because of the size/shape of them.

Well I decided I would bring one home from work to try with him... I assumed it was edible because it was pretty soft but I was wrong. Its so hard to get anything away from him after he has it. It took about 10 minutes and I had to put him on the leash to get it. He is a brat! haha
But he was running around like a mad man earlier today so he must be back to normal

Oh yeah, I only give Bella the hard ones...not the flexible ones.  Even if you break out a treat or piece of cheese, he still won't drop the bone?
