Last night Toby started throwing up around bed time. He was sick around 12-14 times within 45-60 minutes.  We took him to the K-State Emergency Vet Hospital.  The doctor was really great. He got a shot to help him stop throwing up and then he was also dehydrated so he was giving a medicine that is gel like under his skin and his body would absorb the moisture. He is also on a bland diet for a few days.

We don't know what he got into to make him sick. He was outside a lot this past weekend because the weather was soo nice. We had a friend come into town with his two small dogs and they played hard.  The only thing he ate besides food is some beef sticks but he has had them before because he loves them.

This morning he seems to be doing good. My Husband is staying home from work this morning and then this afternoon I will stay home with him to keep an eye on our baby.

I hope he feels better soon.... probably was (as you indicated) the result of something he got into outside. These dogs are SO into everything!

Hope your baby is feeling better soon! They just eat anything they can get into their mouths. Wild muchsrooms can get to them big time! Button ate these stinky, orange ones we are prone to get after a rain. Stink though they did, she was drawn to them like candy!! It got to where I'd have to walk the entire back yard after a rainy spell to pick them before I could let her outside. When I would occasionally miss one, she'd be sick and not eat for a day.

Can a moderator split this off for me?

I need your suggestions guys. Last monday and tuesday my boyfriend and I went out of town and a friend watched the dogs for us. They reported that everyone had been great and had no issues. The only strange this is that Clyde had thrown up once just shortly before I have arrived to get them. That night after feeding them their normal dinner Clyde started having the runs. The next two days I fed him strictly Rice and Pumkin. This seemed to help a bit as he wasnt having to go to the bathroom as often but his stools where still soft. Last night I began to notice a bit of red in the stools and they where kind of oily. This morning I found several more of these around the house as he had snuck out of the bedroom and done them at night. This morning my boyfriend called me to report that he has had about 10 more and that they are more red, slightly yellow and again look very oily. Have any of you had experiance with this? We are trying to get him into a vet asap but I am very worried. He has been his usual happy active self and his appetite has not changed. I am pretty good and understanding what to give a dog once I know what they are sick with..but not good with the diagnosing part. Needless to say I am very worried Ironically my boyfriend has been very sick to his stomach all week long too. I might have to take the dog and the boyfriend to the emergency room today.

Toby is doing much better. I feed him like the vet requested and the poor little guy didn't even pick his head up once while eating because he was soooo hungry. So that was a great sign. He still seemed a little not like him but as the night wore on he became more and more like Toby. I feed him a little again this morning and he finshed off what I gave him. He seems to be acting fine so I am greatful for that. He is our baby and we want the best for him. Thanks for all of your kind words.
