Alice has conjunctivitous in both eyes now. I feel so bad for her. She just itches them like crazy. I called the vet because this goopy stuff they gave us is next to impossible to get in the little wiggle worms eyes. So now I have to go pick her up drops and bring her in Sat if she is not better. I think Freds is getting better but I hope he doesn't get it back from her. UGH, I just want my healthy dogs back!

Is there a chance you can use both? The ointment might stay around her eye a little better. But like you said she itches or rubs them anyway. Poor Alice. Are you using anything for the itchiness?

Poor doggies. Pink eye sucks! Do what you can to get the drops in but many times it is a viral conjunctavitis and will clear up on it's own as opposed to bacterial which would need the drops. My oldest skin-kid had it when i was 7 months preggo with the twins......I was crying trying to wrestle a 3 year old 4 times a day alone to get them in, I feel for ya! LOL

Poor Alice. Ointment can be tricky to get in the right place, I had to give Mayfly ointment for an allergy episode once. Drops are much easier.

Just went home for lunch: both dogs, both eyes. OMG

Called the vet, picking up drops for them that should be easier to get in than this ointment, taking both dogs back on Saturday. I feel so bad for them. It;s a shame it doens't make them sleepy LOL.

The funny thing was they said with the eye drops use Benedryll 3 times a day too, I dont' know why they recommended this?

For the itchiness, they said the ointment has cortizone which should help with that. When Guy gets home we are gonig to hog tie them and try to get this stuff in their eyes tonight b/c the drops won't be ready til tomorrow.

The benadryl will help with the itchiness as well.
