on Saturday he had his vaccinations, heartworm test etc. and he didn't feel well all day today either. One injection was intramuscular, so it really bothered the poor little guy He actually couldn't walk for the rest of the day without a very noticeable limp, so of course mommy carried him everywhereHe was so good for the vet though, he didn't move, just hid his head under my arm. All his tests were negative though

BTW, sorry I haven't been on here as much as usual, but the weather has been fabulous, so of course we've been out and about more often. Phoenix is getting his 3-4 walks in a day now, so he is much happier that all the snow is gone

Hi Tracy
Was this his first experience with an ouchie like this?
Poor guy, I bet he liked being carried around, he may even have limped a little more to get more of your attention. J/k. Hope he feels better soon.

He seems to be feeling better today
Vicki- you just may be right about the attention thing! LOL Took him out this morning and he was waiting for me to pick him up to carry him back in, even though he walked out himself!!! LOL
This was his first experience with us for his immunizations, now he has to go back for dental and booster in 3 weeks.....he's gonna hate me!

Feeling a little puny and having a low grade temp after rabies, in particular, is not uncommon for smaller dogs. Several vets have told me this. They often get a raised bump at the shot site and the site is quite sorel to the touch if you pick them up and push on the site. They can be quite lethargic the next day as well. Mostly mine sleep the next day after a rabies shot. Most dogs will snap back to their norm by the second day. The violent reactions are the ones you need to watch for and seek immediate vet assistance if they occur. That could signal a hyper allergic reaction to one of the injections and can be life threatening.
