Which Flea preventative are you using and why? Where have you found the best price?

It seems there are three big ones, Advantage, Frontine Plus, and K9 Advantix. We're leaning towards K9 Advantix because of the repellent properties.

Have you had any side effects?

Sorry if this has been covered. My internet connection is painfully slow at work. (How do they expect me do get any work done when it takes me so long to cruise Rat-Terrier. Com? )

Ooops forgot to add... I've seen no side effects...

I use K9 Advantix on the advice of my holistic vet. She prefers that over the rest. However, if your dog is prone to seizures, don't use K9 Advantix - she suggests Frontline for dogs with seizures. She had explained why she preferred K9 Advantix, but I can't really remember exactly why. She also says that although there are many holistic remedies to try to control fleas, they're mostly ineffective. And I know that personally, cuz I've tried most of 'em with no success.

We use Advantix and have never seen a flea or tick on Vinnie. He sort of scratches for a few days after we put it on butr then he's fine. Just started back on it April 1st.
