Is this normal?  I know that you guys said 7-10 days of bleeding out of a 21 day cycle.  So, we are now on day 13 and I'm wondering if I should be concerned.  It seems lighter, but it is still there none the less.  Poor Tinkerbelle's hiney looks like a monkey's butt!

Hmm, well the looking like a baboon butt is (unfortunately) normal...silly...but normal. I've never actually counted the days mine bled and with the little ones it's sometimes hard to tell. Since it's lighter it's probably ok but hopefully some of the breeders on here will check in with a better answer for you.

Just out of curosity how much IS she bleeding? My rattie would just spot blood here and there.....

Every dog is different with her cycle just like people are. Tinkerbelle may just be a girl with a little longer bleeding than what the books say. I would not worry unless it got grey and/or nasty smelling. If there is no noticeable odor for a human nose then she is probably fine.

The old saying is "one week to go in, One week to be bred, and one week to go out." WARNING but some females will breed at any time in the cycle.

I would call it spotting, but if she sits or lays down for even a minute there will be a little spot left behind.  I have towels all over my bed and couch, but of course she doesn't like the texture so she is constantly moving off of the towel.  She is also very horny.  She is humping my poor kitty at every opportunity.  It's funny to see, but I think my cat is traumatized

Thanks for the info, maybe we'll be on our "week out" soon!

My daughter's pug bled for right at a month. They said it was AWFUL--she bled like a stuck pig. There was no second cycle for her! My other daughter said that they hardly know when their basset is in heat.

Before I had Bailey spayed, she would bleed for about 14 days, so maybe she's about through. I had spots of blood everywhere too. I washed my blankets, sheets and towels so many times it wasn't even funny.

Sorry about your cat. My smallest Rattie bitch humps the Border Collie's head and that is just weird too! Besides looking strange.
