This question is for my old lab. She's black and I am noticing her skin is drying out a bit with age, she looks like she has dandruff sometimes. Anyway, does anyone know of a good supplement I can add to her food to help produce more oils in her skin? And at the same time it would have to be something that wouldn't hurt Brutus, just in case he stole some of her food.

| Fish oils do wonders for skin and immune system. I would add some to both their foods. You can get the fairly cheap online. |

Fish oils come in tablets and in liquid forms. You can do a quick search on amazon for 'fish oils'. |

| Liquid pumps are easier, you can just pump it onto the food. Easier to measure too. |

I also have an older Labbie. I use Missing Link 'Plus'. It has helped my girl. Her Hips are better, and , her coat is beautiful! She is 12. I recommed it. It has all the omegas your pup needs. Yes, My rattie Savanna gets it too

It is a powder supplement you mix in their food.

Thank-you all. I'm going to look for fish oil or the missing link stuff today when I visit the "health food" dog store for the first time. I am also going to try to switch them to a natural food of some sort. So I hope the people in the store can help me out with that. I can't believe almost 11 years with my old girl eating crappy dog food, I find you guys while looking for breed info on Brutus and I'm now I'm ready to try to have the healthiest dogs I can. |

I feed Sadie Flax Seed meal. About a teaspoon with every feeding. Especially if the food doesn't already have omegas in it. Diff |

| Flax Seed meal and/or oil are great too but you have to be careful as many dogs are allergic to it. |

| Just another tidbit on Flax seed. The omega's in that are not as readily available as those in Fish oil. They need to be converted and some dogs and humans are not able to convert them as well and get the full benefits. F |
